the home stretch begins.

My “home stretch” journey to my weight loss goal officially started this morning and I have 33 pounds, or a little over a pound a week, if I want to reach my goal by the end of 2010. So, 67 down, 33 to go. Think I can do it? I hope so!

As I left work today, my mantra on the five or so minute walk to my car was something along the lines of “I will go to the gym right away, I will go to the gym right away”. I have let myself get into such a bad habit of going home after work and then just not going back to work out, so it is a habit I need to break. I did go and went on a stationary bike for 40 minutes (9 miles). It felt good to get back and do something I so rarely do. The bike is not my favorite, but I think it’s a good way to get some cross training in.

I’m still toying around with posting the foods I eat each day on the site. While I think it’s a great way to keep myself accountable for what I eat, I feel like when I do, it sometimes just because a food journal with some pictures thrown in. Plus, most of the food I eat is, well, not that exciting. I mean, most days, my breakfast is a bowl of Kashi cereal. Not that fascinating. I think the pictures make it a better read, just for sake of mixing things up beyond the next. I need to start remembering to carry my camera with me (and I really need to get a camera case!).

Pondering and brainstorming. What’s a girl to do?!?

P.S. Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point wrote a great entry today about How to Get (And Stay) Motivated which was just what I needed to read today! If you haven’t already, go check it out. Thanks for the perfectly timed post, Caitlin!
