completely unprepared.

07.21.10

As I was getting ready for the day this morning, I realized that when I packed my stuff for house sitting, I forgot a fairly important thing: food. Oh, and shampoo, conditioner, and soap which fortunately I realized that last night and was able to stop at CVS to grab some. Also forgot some pajamas, so I slept in a tshirt and workout pants. Clearly, I was completely unprepared.

On the bright side of things, my workout last night was awesome!! I don’t know what it was, if it was the right music, the change of scenery, or who knows what else, but I had fun, I got a good calorie burn, and felt all around really great! I felt like it was the best workout I’ve had in quite some time!

Since I didn’t have food for the day, I ate out for breakfast and lunch. I stopped and grabbed a bagel with cream cheese and coffee on my way to the office.

I had to run up to this hospital this morning to pick up some assignments for my students and stopped by the bistro for a lunch. I was excited they had not only vegetarian, but even a vegan option! I had the vegan curried salad which had a black bean curry patty, some sweet potato, grilled peppers and onion, spring mix, and sprouts. I quickly learned that I am not really a fan of the sweet potatoes or grilled peppers and onions when they’re cold. I ate the salad anyways since it was my only option.

I also grabbed a peanut butter bar for dessert which was so delicious! The peanut butter layer was soft and melt-in-your mouth gooey.

I’m glad I had the sugar buzz because I needed it to teach this afternoon! Yes, that’s right. Teach. I assisted at the surgical knot tying workshop for our third year medical students. Because, clearly, with an education in public relations and nonprofit management, I am quite qualified to help with this! Don’t worry, I was taught the techniques beforehand…I’m not ready to go sew up someone after a surgery, but I got the basics down!

Time to go play with the puppies for awhile and figure out some dinner!
