elementary school flashbacks.

I woke up this morning in just a spectacular mood! I have no idea why, but I am feeling full of joy today. I like it. And, this is even on about 4.5 hours of sleep (insomnia, I will conquer you one day!).

While I am feeling happy, it’s also been one of those days where nothing really sounds good to eat. It probably doesn’t help I’m severely lacking in the grocery department. I’m going out of town this weekend, so I didn’t go to the store thinking I could get by on what I had. I’m starting to think that was perhaps not the greatest idea. I only have to get through one more day, though, so it’s not too terrible.

Morning was my usual cereal. I had 1.5 servings of Kashi Honey Sunshine. I can’t lie, I’m really just eating the couple boxes I have to make them gone. While it’s decent, it’s definitely not my favorite of their cereals.

I had a flashback to elementary school with today’s lunch. It was a classic.

Peanut butter and jelly, although my elementary school self didn’t actually like PB&J. I was a bit of a quirky child (and this is only the tip of the iceburg, if I’m being honest!). I did ham and cheese sandwiches a lot, but never PB&J. It’s only been in the past three or so years I discovered I like them!

And, what’s a good lunch without some Goldfish crackers? I have to say, I love that the first ingredient is smiles. How endearing is that?

So now, I need to go figure out something for dinner. I’m trying to watch my spending right now, but I’m really tempted to go pick up a pizza. The more I think about it, the better it sounds! You can never go wrong with pizza!

What was your favorite lunch in elementary school?
