Question 1: Why did you decide to start a fitness blog (or reading fitness blogs)? Has your blog’s purpose changed/evolved since you first started it?
Caitlin‘s was the first blog I found. I don’t even remember how I stumbled across it, but I was instantly hooked. From there, I started discovered others. A few months back, when the 2010 Healthy Living Summit was announced, I wanted to go right away! They said you didn’t need to have your own blog to attend, but I had been toying with the idea in the back of my mind, so this was just the motivation I needed to get one going. Since I’ve only been blogging for a few months, I don’t necessarily feeling like there’s been a lot of change yet, but I do think I am starting to find my voice in the blog community.

Question 2: As busy as everyone is these days, how do you find time and balance for blogging/reading in your every day life? If you have deal with guilt because of not posting/reading, please share how you have dealt with it.
Part of it is making it a priority. I want this to be something I love, but also something I’m proud of. I recognize that to do that is going to take some time. A lot of it is finding time here and there to work on posts when I get a chance. Some days, though, I just don’t blog for one reason or another. If there are days I don’t, I try not to let it bother me because at the end of the day, this is really something for me, so I can’t post just to please someone else. I think when it gets to that point, it won’t be fun anymore. I want this to remain something I love.

Question 3: Are there any tools (programs/apps/plug ins etc) that make blog writing or blog reading easier for you?
Like most people, I love, love, love Google Reader (but, let’s be honest…Google and Apple pretty much run my life). I use a combination of iPhoto and Picnik for photo editing. For blogging itself, I just use the WordPress site. Really nothing special or out of the ordinary for me.

Question 4: What is your favorite thing about blogging (reading blogs)?
The community is by far my favorite thing. I love that there are so many people who are there to offer support and encouragement when a blogger is struggling. I love the new ideas and thoughts that are shared, the friendships that are formed. This community is an absolutely amazing thing to be a part of, and I feel so blessed and honored for it!

*Brag Time* Share what you are most proud of this week!
Attending the Healthy Living Summit was definitely huge for me. I’m not shy by any means, and I feel like I can adapt really well in a group of people I don’t know. But, the hard thing was getting over the fear of the unknown. I truly had no idea what to expect, but I was completely blown away. Also, attending a class at LA Boxing during the Summit was absolutely intense and forced me to work out in a way that I am not at all used to. I got really lightheaded at one point during the class and I was so tempted to just completely give up. I did rest for a few minutes to regain some strength, but I was so proud of myself for getting back up after that!

    You really hit the nail on the head, girl! 🙂 I love our blogging community. Also, even though we only met for a few minutes, it was great talking to you at HLS.

    You should be so proud of yourself for sticking through the entire boxing class! I know that had to be intense! 🙂
