in the pumpkin mode.

After a carb overload for most of the day yesterday, I was ready for some freshness in my dinner! Between that and the quickly browning bananas sitting on my kitchen counter, that could only mean one thing! Green monster time! I added 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup mixed berries, a banana, a big handful of spinach, and about 1/2 cup raw oats.

I can’t lie though, I almost forgot the almond milk. It would have been a bit chewy without it, don’t you think?

Since I’m declaring myself officially in pumpkin mode, I had some toast with pumpkin butter on the side. YUM. I could eat the pumpkin butter by the spoonful!

Youth group last night was fabulous, as always. I just adore the girls I get to have in my group, they are completely wonderful. I really want to be an encouragement in their lives, letting them know how great and special and beautiful they are. In honor of the first LifeGroup time of the year (LifeGroup = small group living life together), they provided Little Debbie snacks! I had a pack of Swiss Cake Rolls which have always been a favorite. I peel the chocolate coating layer off, eat that, then eat the rest by “unrolling it”. It makes it last longer, otherwise I could eat those in a few bites!

The week is definitely starting to wear me down though. Once I got home last night, I took care of a couple quick things and was asleep practically before my head hit the pillow. It was tough getting up for boot camp this morning. I think my alarm went off for a solid 15 minutes before I heard it! This all lead to a latte kind of morning! I love Biggy for many reasons, including the inspirational cups. Today’s encouraged me to be passionate!

And, with that, we’re off to the races! Happy Thursday!

What is your favorite inspirational/motivational quote or saying?

I don’t think I have a favorite, but I read one yesterday that I liked so much I wrote it down – “The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment.” I do it all the time – wanting more sleep or wanting to relax being more important NOW, but getting in the way of successful race training (or even consistent blog posting, really) that is a bigger picture goal.

“Whether you think you can do it, or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
    -Stewie Griffin from Family Guy

Yes, I get my inspiration quotes from a show that has a talking dog and racy humor.
