just call me Goldilocks.

I was sad this morning.  Just as I was thinking about what I wanted for a morning snack, someone came to my desk for a good 30 minutes.  It was a great visit, but by the time he left, I had missed the window of opportunity for a snack.  Lunch was just around the corner.

I almost left the house this morning without my lunch!  I was literally in the car with the engine running before I remembered – just in the nick of time!  I brought a couple slices of leftover pizza.  I like the leftover slices just a bit lukewarm.  Not to hot, not too cold, but just right.  Just call me Goldilocks.

I kept reading blogs with people talking about pomegranate Chobani but for the life of me, I could not find it!  That all changed this morning and it definitely lived up to all my expectations, especially since it didn’t just have the pomegranate flavor, but even some actual seeds.  I’m hooked.

I finished up my dog-sitting responsibilities after work!  I had to go feed them and let them out one last time.  And, what’s a one last time without a minor catastrophe?  After I finished packing up my stuff, I went and sat out on the back patio for awhile, enjoying the sunshine.  The dogs come running up and what does Norman drop out of his mouth, but a dead bird!  (No, he didn’t kill it, if you’re wondering!).  After I figured out how to get rid of it, I was more than happy to head home.

I made some French toast for dinner…except I am somewhat horrible at making it, so it wasn’t anything spectacular.  It was more warm, soggy bread than toast.  I slathered a spoonful of almond butter in the middle and that was definitely the highlight of the whole thing!  Delicious!

I definitely made more of the “batter” (for lack of a better term) than necessary, so I made scrambled eggs out of the rest.

Want some visual proof my French toasting abilities are sub-par?  I give you the pan after all was said and done.  Sadly, it pretty much looked like that after one slice.  I need to take lessons from my mom.  Hers is stellar, and bonus that she doesn’t end up with burnt egg-y stuff on the bottom of the pan at the end of it!

Anyone want to come clean that out for me?  It shall be fun!

I’m currently in the mental debate of going to yoga tonight.  The only problem really came when I sat down in my comfy chair and started to relax a bit, but since I already missed last week, I seriously need to go!

What are your techniques for making great French toast? Clearly I need all the help I can get!

I’m pretty bad at making french toast, too. I’ve made it in the oven before, which is probably the best way I’ve ever prepared it! It cooks more evenly and has given me good results!

I agree, baked french toast is yummy – and a great, easy brunch dish, too!

also: where did you find the pomegranate Cho? I am jealous!

finally … as of right now, it is supposed to rain on Saturday. 😦
