caffeinated is the only way to start a day.

10.20.10

Oh, what a day it’s been…you know it’s crazy when it’s almost midnight and I am just now sitting down at my computer. Minus a 20 or so minute catnap before I had to head out to the church tonight, I feel like I have been on the go all day long!

Fortunately, I started the day out with properly caffeinated with a latte on my way to work! I am quite glad that’s a habit I’ve definitely started breaking, but sometimes it’s just one of those days!

My sister and one of her kids were in town for part of the day, so I was able to use a couple personal hours at the office to sneak out and see them for a bit.

Isn’t she just the cutest?

I love, love, love the time I get with my family!

Lunch was just one of those “it was okay” kind of meals. I had a grilled portabella mushroom on a pretzel bun with some pesto aioli. It also had some lettuce, spinach, onion, tomato, and avocado. I feel like it had so much potential to be epic.

The basket of fries we shared, however, definitely bordered much closer to tipping the epic scale. They were so good!

You know what is the bad part of taking time out of work for a meal with people I love? Saying goodbye to the people I love and going back to my desk! I wanted to keep hanging out with them longer, but reality (and the big stack of work awaiting me) called.

Dinner was a “I’m not really hungry, but I know I need to eat something because otherwise I’ll be hungry later when I’m someplace I won’t be able to eat” kind of meal. I had to be at church tonight for youth group, so I knew I needed something in my stomach. Bring on the go-to meal of cereal, my friends!

And, I still had to fill my daily quota of pumpkin, so I had a slice of pumpkin bread with Earth Balance buttah.

I sat and talked with my friend Jacqueline for a solid two hours after youth group tonight. Now that we don’t see each other every morning for boot camp, it feels like we had so much to catch up on! It definitely put a damper on the plans to head home as soon as I could and sleep, but it was well worth it!

That is a bummer about the sandwich– the way you described it makes it sound epic, but I hate when food doesn’t live up to expectations!
