happy birthday, maxie boy.

(psst…just a one girl revolution. is on Facebook now!)

Remember last month when I saw Lady Antebellum in concert?

They were amazing then, but they were equally as fantastic at the Country Music Awards last night winning Single of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year.  Not to mention, a stunning rendition of their new single “Hello World”.

It was really Miranda Lambert who freaking dominated last night.  Her success has been a long time coming and completely well-deserved.  Her new album is epic.

Other highlights of the show for me:  Taylor’s performance of “Back to December” and the Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson duet.  That girl needs to record a country album.  For reals, yo.  Reba’s cover of “If I Were a Boy” was excellent.  The woman is a country music legend.  When she and Kelly toured together, they came through Grand Rapids and I was lucky enough to have a front row seat.  Uh-mazing show.  I wish they would have released a live album or a DVD from that tour.

I had planned to get to sleep early last night, but then I got sucked into the CMAs and next thing I knew it was after 11 and close to midnight  by the time I was actually sleeping.

I grabbed breakfast on the road this morning.  I say that as if I a) have a long commute to work, and b) anyplace to grab breakfast is on my way.  I don’t and it’s actually slightly out of the way on the days I want a latte or a bagel.

Today it was the bagel.

I had the usual deal:  salsa pepperjack bagel with veggie cream cheese.

Someday, I’ll mix it up, but why mess with a good thing?

Happy Veterans Day! Thanks to everyone who fights for our country!  I have family that served, so it’s a great way to remember them and the sacrifices they made.  Also, happy birthday to my baby nephew, Max.  (Or as he is affectionately known in the family, Maxie Boy).  He’s actually not so much a baby anymore, though.

This is the most recent picture I could find since I’m not on my laptop, so it’s almost a year old, but he’s just as awesome now.  He just hasn’t quite mastered the art of smiling for the camera but he’s pretty much the cutest (well, tied with my other nephew and all my nieces, of course!).

Do you have little kids in your family? I love, love, love being Aunt Mindy.  It’s one of the greatest things ever.
