all the single ladies.

I have a confession.

I spent a good portion of the day in an all my friends are getting married and I’m still very single funk.  Between all the various wedding activities of the past few weeks and another friend getting engaged yesterday, it was starting to get to me.  So, I spent most of the day doing absolutely nothing…except feeling sorry for myself.

Mid-afternoon, I forced myself out of it.  Just because that season of my life hasn’t come for me yet, that’s okay.  It will.  But, not if I sit around having a pity party.  Life is so good, I want to enjoy it to it’s fullest, with or without a man in my life!

With that, I got myself moving and headed to yoga.  It was a good hour to just focus on myself and clear my head.

My food this morning/early afternoon was not so much meals and snack-age.  A bowl of cereal, a slice of toast with almond buttah, a Kashi granola bar, and half a Bolthouse Farms smoothie.

Once I got home from yoga and the grocery store, I cooked up some roasted veg.  The finished product was covered with some BBQ sauce…quite possibly one of the most perfect sauces ever, in my opinion!

Note to self:  potatoes don’t work so well on the aluminum foil.  They all were sticking to it when I went to flip it all halfway through the baking time. Lesson learned.

Do you see the okra on there?  It was my first time eating it and I’m a fan!

While that was in the oven, I grazed on guac and chips.

On the agenda for tonight:  reading a few more chapters in Mini Shopaholic and watching the American Music Awards!  I’m most excited for the Backstreet Boys/NKOTB performance!

Happy Sunday!

Finding myself newly single, I’m kinda in this place too. There’s a LOT to focus on that doesn’t require male assistance 🙂

A few months after meeting my partner I was feeling the same way. I felt bad about being single and was convinced something was wrong with me. Like you I came to the realization that “Life is so good, I want to enjoy it to it’s fullest, with or without a man in my life” and life then became good again! I believe that once I came to that particular realization I became more grounded in who I am as a human being. This is just my experience and ponders.

    I heart your blog!
