best cupcake ever.

On Tuesday, my friend Anna wrote on her Facebook that she was making cupcakes. Knowing I would see her yesterday, I jokingly commented that she should bring me one.  I was quite surprised and touched when she showed up at Anthem, cupcake in hand.

I used it as my motivation to go workout today.  No exercise, no cupcake.  So, I ran (I decided to stick with the plan and do yoga another time).

I got to the Y, hopped on the treadmill, and pounded out 3.0 miles in 33:14.

I was really tempted to dig into the cupcake as soon as I got home, but I had some level of self-restraint and started with a bit of sustenance.  A green monster with a banana, spinach, 1 cup almond milk, and a scoop of vanilla Sun Warrior protein powder.

A few years ago, if you had told me this was the kind of stuff I would be eating, I would never have believed you!  Sometimes, I still listen to myself talk about my food and exercise habits and wonder who IS this girl?.  I am beyond words happy about how my lifestyle has changed.

After the green monster, I finally enjoyed the mocha cupcake with coffee frosting.  I may or may not have been thinking about it all day long.

I have three words for you, my friends:

It was that good.  And, with that, I’m off to relax for the evening with a book, perhaps a glass of wine, and a new episode of The Big Bang Theory.
